Other Nantucket Activities

Jeep Rental

One of the best activities on Nantucket. There are many parts of the island that can only be accessed by 4-wheel drive. All of the car rental agencies have jeeps for rent that will allow you to spend the day exploring areas like coatue and other regions. Cost range from $100 to $200 per day depending on time of year.

Cisco Brewery

Probably one of the coolest places on Nantucket. The brewery atmosphere is an open courtyard in with live music, games, food vendors and a huge outdoor patio with an open farm view. Very popular after the beach from 3 to 7 pm.

Madaket Beach for Sunset

This is a great beach to watch the sunset and either picnic on the beach or walk over to Millie’s for Dinner.

Sunset Harbor Cruises

Take a sunset cruise on the Endeavor Sailboat. It leaves from the Strait Wharf in town every day during the season 508-228-5585

Boat Rental

Spend the day on the water by renting a boat. Boat rental are available from Island boat rental 508-325-1001

Nantucket Antheneum

One of the best historic libraries you will ever visit. This library has everything it should, plus it is a great historic building with an original scrimshaw collection. The Great Hall on the second floor is where Nantucketer’s used to hold town meetings and had many famous speakers like Frederick Douglas. No charge to see this great building in the heart of town.

Sankaty Head Lighthouse

The view from Sankaty Lighthouse is amazing. From the hill which it sits you get a panorama view of Sankaty golf course, cranberry bogs and ocean.

First Congregational Church

Over 100 steps up to the observation area of this beautiful church tower. Spectacular views to the north, south, east and west. Bring your camera.

Saturday Farmers Market

Sustainable Nantucket hosts a Farmers and Artesian market every Saturday (9:00 am – 1:00 pm) Starting first weekend in June until Mid-October. The market is held downtown next to St. Marys Church.
